Cottage Spice Cake

Ingredients
Cake
- 120g Butter
- 450g Dark Brown Sugar
- 2 Large Eggs
- 500mL Filmjölk (or Buttermilk)
- 2tsp Vanilla Extract
- 2tsp Baking Soda
- 360g Plain White Flour
- 3tsp Cinnamon
- 1.5tsp Nutmeg
- 1tsp Ginger
- 1tsp Mace
- 1/2tsp Clove
- 1/2tsp Cardamom
Topping
- 40g Melted Butter
- 100g Dark Brown Sugar
- 1tsp Cinnamon
- 30mL Milk
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C
- Grease and flour a cake tin
- Beat the butter and brown sugar together, adding the eggs one at a time until smoothe
- Add in the filmjölk and vanilla and continue to beat until smoothe
- Mix in the dry ingredients until combined
- Scrape the batter into the cake tin
- Bake for roughly 45 minutes until a scewer comes out clean
- Whilst the cake is in the oven stir together the topping ingredients
- Spead the topping on the cake and return it to the oven for 10-15 minutes
