Ingredients

  • 90g Butter
  • 170g Dark Chocolate
  • 1 Cup Dark Brown Sugar
  • 2 Large Eggs
  • 120g Plain White Flour
  • 25g Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
  • 2tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1/4tsp Baking Powder
  • 1/4tsp Fine Salt

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 180ºC (fan-forced)
  2. Grease and line a 20cm baking pan
  3. Add butter and chocolate to a heat-proof bowl and heat gently until nearly-melted, then stir until smooth
  4. Whisk together sugar, eggs, and vanilla until pale and creamy
  5. Add the chocolate mixture and whisk until combined
  6. In another bowl combine the flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt.
  7. Slowly incorporate the dry ingredients, thoroughly mixing until combined.
  8. Pour mixture into baking pan.
  9. Bake for around 30-35 minutes.
  10. Remove from tin and set on a wire rack to cool before cutting.
