Goofball Pathfinder 2e
Planning
Game
- The plan is a fairly goofy spelljammer-esque game
- I’m going to try to keep sessions fairly self-contained when possible, so think missions rather than long-form single quests.
- With the missions being self-contained, we’ll be running the game calendar in pseudo real-time
- Your base of operations is a flying space boat.
- All of you were hand-picked by the High Jelly of the Molf to aid him in finding his (daughter?).
- You are all from one of the 3 factions currently involved in an ongoing revolution, but none of you are quite sure which one anymore.
- There will be a lot of planar oddities.
System
- My preferred character builder: https://pathbuilder2e.com
- If you do get your pathbuilder going before session zero, I have a GM thing going:
- Press ‘Connect to GM’
- GM ID: 5583
- Password: ‘Goofballs Assemble’
- Feel free to send me home-brew if you want to use it.
Character
- Level 7 start
- Full access to Rare, Aftermath, & Deviant feats
- Free Archetype variant rules
- Ancestry Paragon variant rules
Administrative
- I believe we are all fairly free Monday evenings.
- I’m hoping to get up and running pretty soon.
- Potentially session zero either this or next week depending on people’s availability.
- We also need to figure out a venue, so any suggestions would be appreciated.
Session 1
Message
The first mission will be in Svartboka, a city inspired by Sigil from the forgotten realms setting. Svartboka is the most significant nexus between the outer and artificial planes. Every plane that isn’t planar-locked, and many still that are, is accessible in some way through Svartboka’s ever expanding library. Explorers and researches flock to the city to lose themselves in tome and exhibit, both nearly forgotten and marvellously new. Your first task is to find information regarding a man known primarily as ‘The Author’. You have also been given two other pieces of information. Firstly, the man’s name is supposedly ‘Henry Colfax’, this name however should not be used lightly. Secondly, you have been told that there are many books in the children’s fiction section that have some relation to finding ‘The Author’. You also have been introduced to a simian known as ‘The Bellhop’ who will be your chaperone around this labyrinthine city.
Svartboka (Black Books)
Also called The Infinite Library, Svartboka is a minor plane that is owned and maintained my The Final Archmage of the Azarian Arcanum, Eiríkur Magnússon. It is considered the most extensive library in existence as when the plane was created Eiríkur crafted a spell to ensure any written knowledge would be duplicated within the library. There is a massive amount of golems maintaining organic and magical plants, ensuring books are put in the correct place once finished with by students, maintaining and expanding the plane and its magical properties, assisting in rituals and other magical tasks, and keeping order within the library itself.
Svartboka became a major city after a few millennia of expansion through the various outer planes. It is now said that the only books that can’t be found in Svartboka are the one’s that are saved for Eiríkur’s personal collection, which is said to be accessed by a single book in the city’s great library.
The Author
Henry Colfax is an enigma, the writer of many children’s stories, but also an extra-dimensional and extra-temporal being that tends to be quite benevolent

- Inkheart
- Die Katze
- Cat and a burgler pull off a great heist
- The Forest

Session 2
The second mission will stay in Svartboka. With you having now met with ‘The Author’ you have some information about some conspirators in the kidnapping of /smɑː/ (the word used for daughter). You have been told about a fleshwarp called Lars Keswick, a member of the Order of the Argent Pyramid. The order is said to have a plane contained in a book in the library and has a strange influence over it’s inhabitants.

Session 3
Alright Goofballs… Last week, the party stopped after determining a few things about the area in the library where the final artefact required to open the portal to The Argent Pyramid’s demiplane is. The plan for this week is a heist for that last artefact. Downtime activities for this week can prep for this in various ways, if you message me beforehand I’ll be able to give you more potential details. No additional information from your contacts yet, unless you want to spend some downtime with them. Remember, you all have 6 full days of downtime to use for this, quite a few things you can do.
For those absent last week:
- Jimmy Jenkins had ‘bookworm’, a stomach bug which prevented him from leaving his quarters.
- Cenyis was probably just hiding in a corner or something.
- Carsus You joining the crew this week?
- Walk the plank:
- Rum shots
- -2 Con 1hr
- Rust Mace
- Mimics for some of the stones
Session 4
You have all fled back to the ship and had to leave the plane of Svartboka since you were seen by a creature who’s memories still incriminate you. It’s not a big enough crime that an inter-planar chase would occur, but would you have stayed in Svartboka there would be consequences. The place you have fled to is not too distant, and is essentially void, so you will not cause any unforeseen mishaps when you perform the ritual to travel into the Argent Pyramid’s demiplane. Up to you all how you go about things from there.
- The Seven Storms
- Famous Five esque
- Illiad-like
- Fiction-like
- Lars
- Has the innsmouth look
Session 5
In the past week, you all have had a fairly quiet week, the ship has been travelling between a few smaller planar settlements and doing some of the more basic trade deals the jelly and his crew regularly does. You’ll have had quite a bit of time to do what you will with. When the session starts, you’re all interrupted in your various activities by the sound of thunder and flash of lightning, even though you are flying through space. This week’s mission isn’t your regular mission, it’s in fact an instinct…
Survive
Story
What the High-Jelly of the Molf actually lost was his /smɛv/ medicine, mistranslated as daughter (/smæ/) This medicine keeps realities from bleeding out around him. Whilst the High-Jelly is mostly Molf, he has some Beholder blood in him which was implanted as a joke by an Imaskari arcanist.
Fortune
Remus: Mariners tend to stay where their heart is and often are married to their trade. Dyson: Much that was once known is forgotten, but not all thoughts that wander are lost.
